Soirée festivalière

Mon festival d'été 2008 se terminait hier. Après Van Halen et Mes Aieux et des premières parties correctes, mon coup de coeur allait non seulement et inévitablement à Great Big Sea mais aussi aux groupes qui ouvraient pour eux, la formation de Québec Les Batinses que j'ai redécouvert et le groupe rock celtique dont j'ai acheté le dernier cd tout de suite après leur set, Young Dubliners (photo). Leur bassiste m'a beaucoup impressionné.

Sur leur site, ils nous cause de leur prestation d'hier : "We just got to Quebec City for our first of four shows in three days here. What a place. Reminds me of so many European Cities but a uniqueness all its own. They are celebrating their 400 year anniversary and the town is on fire!!! Gigs everywhere, huge stages, little stages, pub gigs (we had a pint at 2am last night in a packed bar with live music, ON A FREAKIN TUESDAY!!!! God bless'em) We play tonight at a pub and then tomorrow we open for our old friends Great Big Sea. We haven't really seen them since the Uprooted Tour so hopefully there will be some catching up to do. That same night we play at the pub again and then on Friday move to another club for the fairwell."
